The mountain chains work as climate barriers between the dry Pacific side and the humid Caribbean, that presents precipitations every time of the year and is under the influence of the north trade wind.  While in the Caribbean coast is hot and humid, in the rest of the country two seasons are differenced:  a dry period from December to April and a rainy period from May until November.

In the northwest of the Pacific side predominates a hot and relativ dry climate with temperatures over 30 °C and small vegetation in the dry period.  The rainy season is nice with small precipitations.

In the southwest of the Pacific side is less cold than in the south but more humid with stronger and intensive rains.

In the north and norhteast until Rio San Juan (Boarder river with Nicaragua) is humid and hot, perfect for agriculture with good earth and hothouse climate.

The southeast from Limon to the border with Panama has a nice weather and always green.  Here are not rainy or dry seasons, instead small precipitations are present everyday. The temperatures are about 30 °C.

In the center of Costa Rica, the Central Valley, predominates a spring weather with daily temperatures between 24° and 28 °C.
