For the first time Costa Rica reached the top position in the Annual Global Retirement Index 2018. The index is compiled each year in January by International Living.
The country was particularly convincing in the areas of healthy lifestyles and health care.
In addition, it achieved good results in the categories of governance, amenities and climate.
The ranking takes into account 24 countries and analyzes the categories of buying and investing, rent, benefits and discounts, visas and residence, governance, cost of living, entertainment and amenities, health care, healthy lifestyles, development and climate.
The best countries in the Annual Global Retirement Index 2018 are: Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, Malaysia.
