The Costa Rican authority SINAC (Sistema Nacional de Áreas de Conservación) said yesterday that the Poás Volcano National Park would remain closed indefinitely due to “unpredictable activities”.
Last Wednesday the dome of the volcano broke after an eruption and the park administration had to close the park until Sunday.
The 2,708-meter-high volcano is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Costa Rica, with a road running almost to the edge of the crater.
