Paradise on the Rio Platanar
Finca with two houses and guest house
The finca has a size of 8.4 ha. It was purchased over 25 years ago by a German expatriate couple and transformed into a Garden of Eden with much love and hard work.
The current owners took over the property in 2011.
The finca, a tropical garden with many fruit and medicinal plants, pastures, a pond, streams (2 springs), consists of jungle with unique wildlife along the Platanar river. Howler monkeys, sloths, various toucan species and many other animals can be found here.
The individual parts of the finca are connected by a newly constructed path that can be used all year round.
A cloudless sky opens up a beautiful view of the Platanar volcano.
The river of the same name, with wonderful swimming lagoons, forms the impressive 300-meter-long boundary of the property and is ideal for adventurous river walks.
The finca is ideally suited for both personal and tourist use

The town of “Ciudad Quesada” , often referred to as San Carlos, has a temperate climate and is one of the most agriculturally fertile areas in Costa Rica. Meat and dairy production (Dos Pinos) is a key industry, but there are also coffee farms that can be visited.
There are plenty of services such as doctors, banks, hospitals, schools, universities, hotels, restaurants and shopping facilities.
The real attraction of the town is the fresh and clean air, the beautiful hills and several thermal springs. The 14,146-hectare Juan Castro Blanc National Park with three volcanoes is an excellent place for birdwatching.
