The driving bans in October are the same as in September. This means that vehicles are allowed to drive for five days and not drive for two days according to the last digit of the license plate(more: https://larestriccion.com/).
Costa Rica: Driving restrictions in October
Driving bans from Monday to Friday: Monday: 1 and 2, Tuesday: 3 and 4, Wednesday: 5 and 6, Thursday: 7 and 8, Friday: 9 and 0.
Driving bans at the weekend: Saturday: 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 – Sunday: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.
During the week, driving is permitted from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., at weekends from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The beaches are open daily until 2.30 pm.
Open-air tourism activities are permitted until 10 p.m. on weekdays and until 8 p.m. on weekends.
Most national parks are open (opening hours 8.00 – 16.00). The Chirripó National Park opens on October 30.
President Carlos Alvarado confirmed at a press conference that the country will continue to follow the motto “Costa Rica trabaja y se cuida“ in October.
Most stores are allowed to remain open nationwide. A new lockdown is not expected despite an increase in the number of infections.
